Risa has a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Psychology from UW-Madison and she is licensed as a Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin.
Risa has provided service in the Green Bay area since 2005, working in a variety of settings with adults, adolescents, and children. Risa has over 17 years of experience working with families who are going through or have gone through a divorce/separation. Blended families, Co-Parent Counseling, transition and adjustment are topic areas she enjoys working on with families.
Risa also has expertise in working with children and adolescents with depression, anxiety disorders, stress, adoption, self-harm, sexual identity, anger management, and parent-child/adolescent issues. She is one of the few therapists with experience working with children ages 2 1/2 and older in play therapy.
With her degree and background in Rehabilitation Psychology, Risa also works with patients who have genetic or acquired disabilities. She believes in helping people adjust to change through grief and acceptance. Finding peace and achieving goals is what Risa encourages her patients to focus on.
